Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the actions Man with Van Nags Head has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our own operations and our supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity and are committed to improving our practices to combat modern slavery in all its forms.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Nags Head provides local and regional transport, removals and logistics support services. Our operations rely on a network of drivers, vehicle hire providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, and occasional subcontracted labour. We understand that risks of modern slavery can exist within transport, logistics, and labour supply chains, particularly where temporary or low-skilled work is involved.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and are prepared to demonstrate that they operate in a lawful, ethical and transparent manner.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man with Van Nags Head has a clear and public zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and all related abuses of human rights. We will not knowingly engage with any business or individual involved in such practices, and we expect all employees, contractors and suppliers to uphold this commitment.
Breaches of this policy by employees may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or engagement. Breaches by suppliers or subcontractors may result in the termination of contracts and the cessation of all business relationships.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We undertake proportionate due diligence on current and prospective suppliers and subcontractors, particularly where there is a higher risk of labour exploitation. This includes assessing their employment practices, sourcing of labour, use of agencies and approach to worker welfare.
Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits or request evidence of their own modern slavery policies and procedures. We review contracts to ensure they contain clear expectations regarding compliance with modern slavery legislation and ethical labour standards. If concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to address them, or, where necessary, discontinue the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Nags Head encourages anyone connected with our business, including employees, contractors, suppliers and members of the public, to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Reports can be made to management in person or in writing, and can be raised confidentially if desired.
All reports are taken seriously and will be investigated promptly and impartially. No individual raising a genuine concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up. Where an investigation identifies potential criminal conduct, we will consider escalation to relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness among our team about the signs of modern slavery and how to respond to concerns. This includes briefing relevant staff on our zero-tolerance policy, explaining risk indicators in the transport and logistics sector, and outlining the internal reporting channels available.
As our business grows, we will review opportunities for more formal training and guidance for managers and those involved in procurement, supplier management and recruitment.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed annually by the leadership of Man with Van Nags Head to ensure it remains accurate, effective and reflective of current risks. As part of the annual review, we consider any incidents or concerns raised, audit outcomes, changes in legislation and best practice guidance.
We are committed to continuous improvement and will update our policies, processes and contractual arrangements where necessary to strengthen our defences against modern slavery. This statement is approved by management and represents our ongoing commitment to conducting our business ethically, transparently and with respect for fundamental human rights.
